Visual and measurement survey of tank shell, roof plates, and structural members for corrosion, deformation, and weld condition.
Bottom Plate Inspection
Ultrasonic thickness measurement and/or magnetic flux leakage scanning of tank bottom plates to detect corrosion and pitting before failure.
Internal Lining Inspection
Examination of tank internal coatings and linings for adhesion, blistering, cracking, and cathodic protection system condition.
Leak Tightness Testing
Hydrostatic filling tests or tracer gas testing to confirm leak-tightness of tank shells, bottom seams, and nozzle connections.

UAE Regulations
Legal Requirements
PPE Inspection inspection is not optional in the UAE. Here's what you need to know.
API 653 Compliance
Aboveground storage tanks in the UAE should be inspected in accordance with API 653 or equivalent international standards, with inspection intervals based on corrosion rates and risk assessment of the stored product.
UAE Petroleum Authority Requirements
Fuel storage tanks must be certified by an accredited inspection body recognized by the UAE Ministry of Energy and UAE petroleum authorities before commissioning and at defined in-service intervals throughout their operating life.
Environmental Protection Obligations
UAE law requires tank operators to prevent leaks and ground contamination. Regular inspection and maintenance of tanks, secondary containment, and leak detection systems is a legal obligation for all tank operators in the UAE.
